If you’ve ever wondered if the terms renovations and remodeling are just synonyms for each other, they are actually two different aspects of home improvements that are similar in certain ways. It is common to hear them

used interchangeably and intending to mean the same definition but they each have their own details

that act as a guideline on any home improvement project. And, no matter if

you are in need a renovation project or a remodeling project, here at Heritage Painting & Home Services

we can help guide you through the process and achieve the results you desire.

Here are a few factors that differentiate a renovation project from a remodeling project…

RENOVATIONS are when you make changes or updates to your home or property while still maintaining the “bones”

or layout and function of the space. This would include projects such as replacing or refinishing your floors,

installing or replacing tile, kitchen and bathroom updates and other projects that only

change the cosmetic features of your home or property.

REMODELING is when you make changes or updates to your home or property that are more extensive and involve alterations to the layout or function of the space. Projects such as adding or eliminating a room,

enlarging or resizing a space, changing the location of fixtures within a space and other projects

that change the original “bones” of the home or property.
